Formica to open new European HQ in region

"Laminate manufacturer Formica is opening a new European headquarters in the North-East, the president of Formica Europe has revealed.

Formica, which already employs 455 staff in the region at the Coast Road, North Shields, and Newton Aycliffe, has earmarked a business park site in the region for its new base.

The presence of the European head office is likely to bring a lucrative boost for the region's professional services sector, which includes lawyers, accountants and recruitment consultants."
